Everything You Wanted to Know About Me, But Were Afraid to Ask #1

I have a terrible sense of direction! You mean north isn’t up hill??? 🤣

Compass

My Dad was the exact opposite! He could find his way anywhere and once he had been there, could always find it again, regardless of how much time had passed. He also gave directions like, head east until you come to the… hold on… head east??? Do I appear to have a built-in compass (or an affinity for obscure 70s bands)??? No, I definitely do not.

I was doing a little shopping with my daughter at the mall recently. We hadn’t been in ages, and it sounded fun! We usually start upstairs, go to the end, head downstairs, and go back to where we started. We went into a store, came out, and I was convinced that we needed to go left to continue on our way… wrong! I’m not sure why or how, but I get very easily turned around. 😬

When I was growing up, I never paid attention to where we went in the car, or how we got to certain places. When I was a young driver, I would go to the end of the driveway and think through the route to my destination in order to decide whether I needed to turn right or left to get there. (And I didn’t always get it right.) It just never came naturally to me. ⛔

Looking at a map in the car

First we had maps. Great for plotting out your route. Not great for finding your way back to the route, once you become lost. Then came Mapquest. Reading directions while driving. Whose idea was that??? Finally, GPS, became available, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Don’t leave home without it! 🤩

Which side of the equation do you fall on… team GPS or team I don’t need no stinkin’ directions???

💜Kendra
