I love watching Christmas movies, and definitely have to be restrained from watching them all.the.time. (although what my family doesn’t know, won’t hurt them πŸ˜‰)

Let’s Look at How This List Evolved

  • The majority of them are movies I watched as a child, including the animated favorites from the 60’s as well as those classic movies that I adore
  • Others were added while my kids were young, giving us some new movies to love
  • And finally, a few were added later, including Die Hard. It is, I’ll admit, a questionable addition (John is not a fan), but Alyssa and Matt are adamant, and I enjoy the movie, so I have included it πŸ™ƒ
  • I am hoping to continue adding to this list as my family continues to discover more favorites

Some notable absences include many of the other animated movies from my childhood (although I would still enjoy the Noelco commercials) as well as movies considered classics by others… but they just don’t speak to me… πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Every day in December includes *at least* one movie, but let it be said that I am not opposed to watching more than one, nor in rewatching (and rewatching πŸ˜„) them. My Favorite is The Bishop’s Wife, so that is how we start off the month. John’s favorite is A Charlie Brown Christmas, so naturally that’s a must as well. Our unspoken tradition is watching It’s a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. Other than that, we watch whatever we’re in the mood for on that particular day.

And what about the fact that the list includes 21 and not 25 movies??? I am always happy to fill in with holiday themed Amazon, Hallmark, and Netflix movies as well as the aforementioned rewatching. πŸ˜‰

Are you as obsessed with Christmas movies as I am? They signal the start of the Christmas season for me and bring back many fond memories of our family in front of a roaring fire watching Christmas movies, so you see… they are so much more than just movies for me. Enjoy your month of movies. πŸŽ„
