Second Christmas

What do you do about Christmas when you have family who live in different parts of the East Coast? Why, you have Second Christmas, of course! Not to be confused with second breakfast, but that’s another story.πŸ˜„

How Do We All Celebrate Christmas Day?

As you already know, Connor, who lives in Vermont, was with us for Christmas Eve for Jolabokaflod and Christmas Day, and stayed all week including Second Christmas. πŸ’œ

Ian and Kaitlyn live in Maryland and spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Kaitlyn’s family and come up for Second Christmas with us. πŸ’œ

Matt, Alyssa, and the kiddos live in Connecticut and spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home so Santa can deliver and then they can play with what he brought. They will also be with us for Second Christmas. πŸ’œ

I remember as a young couple, John and I always had to split our time between my family and his… a rather stressful affair in which I don’t think anyone was ever really satisfied with the time allotted to them. 😬

How Did Second Christmas Come to Be?

I have always said that it’s not really “the day” that matters, just that we can all be together. The total in attendance will include 7 adults, 3 children, and 2 dogs… in other words, total pandemonium… and we will love every minute of it. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

And even though we don’t get second breakfast… we do get Second Christmas dinner! πŸ˜‹ I hope you and your family found a way to be together this holiday season.
